Rui is a Chinese concept meaning, roughly, peace and prosperity. There is an feeling of tranquility that hangs around her, which may cause the people around her to feel at ease.

A kirin who lives and works in the Human Village, managing a small clinic. She poses as a human to avoid being treated any differently than the rest of the residents.

Though Rin is normally a gentle, kind, even-tempered sort, she becomes consumed with righteous anger when presented with a sinner. Because she has sworn to protect the innocent from harm, she thought she should check out the Scarlet Mist Incident. However, upon leaving to investigate, she somehow wound up years in the future (@gensokyo_dr/touhoudressing), far too late to solve the problem herself.

Because of her aversion to harming innocent creatures, she has a vegetarian diet. She even takes great pains to avoid stepping on tiny animals such as insects, watching her feet when she must walk through grassy areas and going barefoot.
